Maria Curie

Maria Curie (Sklodowska) - is the Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry scientist, who invented the
radium and the notion of "radioactivity" in early XX century.

She was born in Poland on 1867 and got education in Paris. It was an extremely difficult period of her life because of poverty and complicated curriculum.

Eventually, she got the Master's degree in Mathematics and Physics and met her future husband - Pierre Curie. He was scientist as well, and accompanied Maria in her investigations.

Mde. Curie made researchs on steel until French scientist Becquerel represented the X-Rays of uranium. She was interested and started in her own investigations in this field. Soon Maria found a steel that emitted more powerful rays than element she had known before. It's name is "radium".

This breakthroughs were noted by The Association of Scientists, and she got two Nobel prizes.
